Memorial Weekend

We went to Sweede's Landing for the holiday weekend and the Fillabrowns joined us. The fish were really biting so the kids had a blast catching them. Emma had her lucky Tigger pole and as you can see it worked.
Jasmine was an expert by the time the weekend was over.
Jasmine's good friend Olivia came with us and she was quite fun and entertaining to have around.
Charlie is always in charge of the fire. He's an expert at it. Thanks Charlie for keeping us warm.
Charles' friend Malachi came with us and was so fun to have around. Be careful with that roasting stick Dallas!

Dallas wanted to tend the fire for much of the weekend. Charlie gave her lots of good tips.
I'm thinking Emma enjoyed her S'more very much!
Dallas too!
By the time they get to be 13 like Jasmine, maybe they won't wear their S'mores so much.
Someome stole Greg's Marchmellow right off the stick.

What would camping be without our buddy Charles!
Daphne and Vicki enjoyed a weekend with iPods and naps. How relaxing.
This is Chic, Charlie's Dad. We have camped with him for the last few years. He is great to have at camp and is famous for his camping oatmeal!
And last but not least is a picture of the chair thief. Every time someone got out of their chair our dog Chip would steal it
Thanks so much to Greg and Charlie for doing all the hard and heavy work! You both make going camping a special experience every time.
A little side note......I am going to have to buy a new digital camera. Mine bit the dust this weekend. Sorry about the blurry pictures......but we were just lucky to get these before it died.

Summer Hair Cuts

The girls have been talking about cutting their hair lately. Today they were very ready so I called my friend Shawna, and she made a house call while they were in the mood, and ready for a new style. Thanks Shawna so much for moving on it so quickly.......They look great as you can see!!

I love how the back turned out. So adorable. Now the true test is if I will be able to do this in the morning before church at 8:30. We shall see.

It will be so much nicer for swimming too. Now if we could only get the summer weather to go with the new summer cuts!

Baker Barracudas Swim Meet

Dallas after the Freestyle Relay
25 yard Freestyle
Pumped after winning the heat.
The second place swimmer wasn't far behind.
Dallas with her new friends, Eva and Carson

Wow what a weekend it was. Dallas tried out for the swim team a month ago and made the team. Last weekend was her first swim meet to compete in, and she loved it. On Saturday she swam in four events; 50 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke, 25 Breaststroke, and 50 Butterfly. She also was in a 100 Medley Relay. Sunday she swam three events; 25 Butterfly, 25 Freestyle, and 25 Backstroke. She did a Freestyle Relay too. If she didn't do her stokes correctly she would be DQ'd (disqualified). Her events were ages 8 and under. At 6 she was one of the youngest kids participating. She won two of her heats. Her 25 yard Freestyle she did in 26 seconds, and the 50 yard Backstroke she did in 1:02. She got 3rd place in both events. Not bad for the first time. Her Freestyle Relay team got first. Needless to say she was pumped and we loved watching her. Emma is excited for when she can be on the swim team too.
